Mike McDaniel had great reaction to Dolphins setting 1 NFL record
The Miami Dolphins have looked like one of the best offensive teams in NFL history through the first five games of the season, but head coach Mike McDaniel is clearly not ready to hang a banner over it.
The Dolphins have racked up 2,568 yards of total offense this season. They are averaging a whopping 36.2 points per game. The yardage total is greater than any other team in NFL history through five games. When asked on Monday about the record, McDaniel had one of his signature sarcastic responses.

“Mission accomplished. The whole offseason, that was our goal, output after five games,” McDaniel said.
McDaniel was just giving the reporter a hard time, which is very much his style. He has had plenty of noteworthy exchanges with the media this season. That said, it is hardly a surprise that he does not care about setting a five-game record.
The Dolphins may have the best offense in the NFL, but they have also allowed 27.0 points per game. That is the seventh-worst mark in the league. Miami still has a lot of work to do, especially since teams will likely catch up to some of what they have been doing through the first month-plus of the season.
Coaches are hired to pile up more yards than any other team through five games. McDaniel knows that.
