The New England Patriots have planned another ceremony to honor Tom Brady, and the latest will unveil a permanent shrine to the legendary quarterback.

On Thursday, the Patriots announced that they are building a bronze statue of Brady outside of Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

The statue will be unveiled prior to the Patriots’ preseason game against the Washington Commanders.

The Patriots retired Brady’s No. 12 jersey during a ceremony last offseason. Team owner Robert Kraft announced at the time that plans were in the works to build a 12-foot statue of Brady, which would be the first statue the team has built honoring a former player or coach.

Brady played for the Patriots from 2000-2019. He won six Super Bowls with the team and is widely considered to be the greatest player of all time. The Patriots went to nine Super Bowls and won the AFC East 17 times with Brady as their starting quarterback.

After he left the Patriots, Brady went on to win a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While there were some issues between Brady and Bill Belichick toward the end of the quarterback’s tenure in New England, it has since been made clear that there are no hard feelings.

The Patriots may also choose to honor Belichick with a statue one day, but for now Brady will stand alone in bronze outside their stadium.
