A group of Patriots fans claim they called Chip Kelly on the phone hours after the coach was fired by the Eagles, and he actually picked up the call.
Keep in mind that anyone can make a viral video that looks very real, but it’s not like tracking down personal information is all that difficult in this day and age. And the backstory of how the Pats fans got Kelly’s phone number is actually somewhat believable.
“So this girl we were with last night… Worked at portsmouth country club in new hampshire. Kelly is from new hampshire. He was a 3 day guest there, and she was kinda like an assistant for him while he was there,” the poster wrote in his YouTube description. “She said one night him and his buddies were wasted and said here take my phone number in case you lose me.”

Not only did that sound like Kelly’s voice, but it sounded reasonable for something someone would say after they just found out they had been fired and were fielding a phone call from a random person. If that was staged, the pranksters did a phenomenal job.
Stranger things have happened, right? Remember those pranksters who duped two NFL general managers with a cruel hoax a few years back? My guess is that was real.
