The Baltimore Ravens are kicking it back to the first Super Bowl title in their franchise’s history.

Samford University revealed on Monday that Qadir Ismail, a former wide receiver at their school, has landed an invite to this year’s rookie mini-camp with the Ravens.

Qadir is the son of former Ravens receiver Qadry Ismail, who played for them from 1999-2001. Qadry was a member of their Super Bowl XXXV-winning team in the 2000 NFL season and later made headlines over his critical comments about ex-teammate Cris Carter. Qadir is also the nephew of Rocket Ismail, who played as a wide receiver in the NFL himself from 1993-2002.

A 24-year-old with good size at 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds, Qadir began his collegiate career at Villanova, playing both quarterback and receiver. He transferred to Samford ahead of the 2022 season, becoming a full-time receiver and catching 11 passes for 114 total yards in 2023.

Qadir ultimately was not selected during this year’s NFL Draft. But he now becomes the latest famous family member to land a rookie mini-camp invite from an NFL team.
