Former NFL general manager Ron Wolf received his gold jacket on Thursday night in advance of his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. At one point during the ceremony, Wolf ran into Roger Goodell.
Naturally, Deflategate came up.
NFL Network microphones caught Wolf telling Goodell, “Way to go on that Brady thing.” Goodell reacted by laughing hysterically.
Now, I understand that could have been a courtesy laugh, a nervous laugh or whatever else. Still, it’s not a good look for Goodell when every new piece of information about Deflategate seems to confirm that the NFL conducted a witch hunt against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Goodell was probably caught off-guard by Wolf’s comment, so you might be inclined to let it slide. Or, you might be of the belief that he should be a lot more careful than that when cameras are rolling after he was caught in a blatant lie earlier this week.
