Tipster allegedly had ‘sexually explicit relationship’ with Aaron Hernandez
Two months ago, Aaron Hernandez’s lawyers threw up a Hail Mary when they filed for a jury probe in the Odin Lloyd murder trial. The probe filing claimed there could be reason to believe one of the jurors in the case had been exposed to outside information and lied about it during the jury selection process.
Don’t expect anything to come of it.
Prosecutors say the anonymous tipster who called Hernandez’s lawyers to inform them of the so-called “untruthful” juror was not so truthful herself. The woman, who was only identified as “Katy” in court documents, apparently had a “sexually explicit relationship” with Hernandez during the trial.
“The Commonwealth has also learned that ‘Katy’ hasn’t simply been in personal contact with the defendant,” prosecutors wrote Monday, per Bob McGovern of The Boston Herald. “She had an ongoing sexually explicit relationship with the defendant prior to and during the trial.
“This relationship includes letters ‘Katy’ sent to the defendant that were subsequently destroyed by the defendant. In addition to the ongoing relationship between ‘Katy’ and the defendant, the defendant had a relationship with ‘Katy’s’ father while there were inmates together at the Dartmouth House of Corrections.”
James Sultan, one of Hernandez’s defense attorneys, acknowledged that the previously-anonymous tipster had “extensive personal contact” with the former New England Patriots tight end.
So much for that. We have actually seen one flirtatious letter that Hernandez wrote from prison, so this isn’t difficult to believe.
Hernandez is still awaiting trial for a 2012 double murder in Boston that he has been charged with .
