We are well aware that athletes go to extreme measure to assure their bodies are in top physical condition, but every once in a while we see something that just seems way too out there. There is working out extremely hard to stay in shape, and then there is sitting in a $75,000 chamber that boosts circulation and blood cells. Tennis star Novak Djokovic is one of those chamber guys. Check out this picture of his workout pod:
According to the Wall Street Journal via Busted Racquet, the pod was designed by a company called CVAC. It uses a vacuum pump and computer controlled valves to simulate high altitude training and is said to be twice as effective as blood doping. The conditions inside the pod can even be changed to simulate different environments. Yes, it’s legal.
For a guy who goofs around with great impressions and funny pranks, Djokovic sure does take his conditioning seriously.
