“WWE announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee,” the organization wrote in its announcement.
There has been speculation that Del Rio was unhappy with his contract and that he would leave the company when his deal expired.
PW Mania notes that the WWE did not use Del Rio’s real name in its announcement and that they did not wish him the best in his future endeavors, which is standard practice for someone who is released, leading to speculation that this could just be a “work.”
