Mark Cuban Upset NBA Didn’t Schedule Mavs to Play in DC for White House Visit

Anyone who was worried about the world ending in 2012 can be comforted by knowing that it only took Mark Cuban two days to launch a complaint about the NBA. Translation: all is normal in the world.

Cuban is upset the NBA didn’t schedule the defending champion Mavericks to play against the Wizards in D.C. Playing in D.C. would have made it easy for the Mavs to meet the president at the White House as championship teams do each year. Instead, the Mavericks scheduled their own trip to the White House prior to a road trip to Detroit and Boston next week.

“There’s no point in calling [the league]. It’s bull—- by the league not to schedule it,” Cuban said. “I figured I’d do it myself since the league wasn’t smart enough to figure it out. How can you be that stupid? All you’ve got to do is when you’re putting in the scheduling software, say Dallas at Washington, yes. They managed to get Dallas and Miami and all the games set on certain days.”

The league defended itself by saying it’s not their responsibility to schedule team’s visits to the White House. That excuse won’t fly for Cuban.

“It doesn’t change the fact that they didn’t (schedule) a game in DC for us,” Cuban wrote in an email to The Associated Press. “Given the compressed schedule it should have been more of a priority because they knew better than any of us how few days off we would have to do something.”

Leave it to Cuban to take matters into his hands. This is the same guy that pees with the Larry O’Brien Trophy in hand. You think he’s going to let a bad schedule keep his team from meeting the pres? No way.
