Kevin Durant falls hard, stays in game (Video)

Kevin Durant fallKevin Durant fell hard on his side going for a rebound during the first quarter of Thursday’s Oklahoma City Thunder-Miami Heat game, but he stayed in the game despite hurting himself.

The Thunder forward was crashing the boards after a Nick Collison miss when he lost his balance and landed hard on the floor. The fall was so great there was an audible thud when he landed. Durant landed with his left shoulder away from his body and was laying on the ground for a period of time.

Durant remained in the game despite the fall and even got credit for an assist on a Thabo Sefolosha layup after the game resumed. He continued to handle the ball on the team’s next possession and made two free throws after being fouled.

Would Durant have left the game had it been against a different opponent? Possibly, but with his team trailing to the Heat in an NBA Finals rematch, you can guarantee he had more incentive to play hurt.
