The only people against replay are 110years old and still writing for newspapers that nobody reads anymore. The NHL changed a rule overnight during the playoffs so MLB can certainly have a tv by the dugout cameras starting after the all-star break for homers/foulballs/fan interference.

I totally agree. I'm pretty sure it'll happen next season.

We absolutely need instant replay on ground rule doubles, home runs and fan interference on those types of plays - and only on them.

Too many ballparks have irregular outfields with crazy yellow lines to designate the difference between a ball in play or "out of there". Even foul poles present problems for umpires because of the height of some balls and the poor viewing angels available to "blue".

I( concur with Ace, that the game would not be slowed down by instant replay of these crucial situations. There would indeed be less time wasted with arguing. Also, if they encouraged pitchers and batters to stop spitting so much, grabbing their crotches or other parts of their uniforms, and generally to quit stalling, games would be shorter, even with instant replay.

I agree on the need for instant replay... and I actually think, overall, it would speed up the game not slow it down. With instant replay we wouldn't have the managers coming out and arguing the call for 4-5 minutes, kicking dirt, yelling at umps. If used correctly, instant replay should be quick easy and painless.
