I was going to opt for the “short on cash” line, but I figure Coleman wouldn’t have been too happy with me for that. Anyway, in case you missed it, Gary Coleman made an appearance for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League — a collegiate summer league. Coleman batted first and was mic’d up, as was the umpire. Check out what the hilarious, choreographed event produced:

Alright, so the pine tar was pretty funny considering Coleman probably didn’t even know what that was — just like he said. Honestly though, I do have to admit I found the corked bat thing to be pretty funny. When I first heard about players corking bats, that’s what I pictured in my mind. Good to know I’m not the only one. And I wonder just how much Mr. Coleman was paid for that. Couldn’t have been more than his Cash Call spots, right?

      It’s good to see he isn’t taking himself too seriously like he used to.
