Giants congratulate Dodgers on winning NL West with scoreboard message
The Los Angeles Dodgers scored a sweet victory over their rival San Francisco Giants Tuesday night by winning 8-0 to clinch the NL West at AT&T Park in front of thousands of Giants fans.
Though the Giants’ hopes of reaching the postseason officially ended, the team was gracious in defeat. They posted a message on their scoreboard congratulating the Dodgers on winning the division:

Those are impressive gestures by the Giants, who have seen plenty of success winning three World Series since 2010. Perhaps the recent taste of victory for the Giants made it easy to congratulate the hated rivals.
For LA, this was a long time coming. They limped to the division crown by posting a pair of 4-game losing streaks the past two weeks before finally eliminating the Giants in what has been a disappointing season for the NL West. They will take on the New York Mets in the playoffs.
