As promised, the Giants gave away McIlroy bobbleheads on Tuesday night and hosted last year’s U.S. Open champion for the ceremonial first pitch. Considering Rory McIlroy is one of the best golfers in the world at age 23, I doubt he’s picked up a baseball many times in his life. From the time he was a young boy, it has likely been all golf for McIlroy. It could have been worse.
McIlroy’s delivery was a bit high and the mini crow hop he did before throwing it was questionable, but the ball got there safely. In fact, it even had some decent zip on it. Not everyone can pull it off as smoothly as Snoop Dog, but for a golfer I’d have to say Rory did a damn good job.
