If they do not like it, all they have to do is have the Union remove it. The players are the ones who wanted arbitration, and they are the ones who benefit from the system. In order to get the raise they are seeking, all players have to do is prove they are worth one dollar over the midpoint of the difference between their number and the team's number. They never have to justify their full requested salary. In Ryan Howard's case, he only has to prove that he's worth $16,000,001 per year and he gets the $18 million. What a world!
