Matt Barnes took shot at Derek Fisher during game?
How much does Matt Barnes hate Derek Fisher? Enough to rip on him in the middle of a game, apparently.
During the Memphis Grizzlies’ loss against the Boston Celtics Wednesday night, a fan supposedly yelled something to Barnes about Fisher. Celtics reporter Marc D’Amico heard the exchange and tweeted about it, though he later deleted it.
There’s a possibility D’Amico wasn’t sure of what he heard and that’s why he deleted the tweet, but would anyone be surprised if Barnes said exactly that?
As you know, Barnes infamously fought Fisher during the offseason because he was upset that the former Knicks coach was dating his estranged wife. One report claimed Barnes punched Fisher and only stopped when one of his children begged him to.
As this seemingly drunken Instagram rant reminded us, Barnes will probably never get over the incident. There’s no reason to think he wouldn’t take a shot at Fisher during a game.
