Gardner Minshew led the Indianapolis Colts to a thrilling overtime win on Sunday, but his performance in the locker room after the game was even more impressive than anything he did on the field.
Minshew went 26/42 for 312 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions in the Colts’ 31-28 victory over the Tennessee Titans. He led a game-winning drive in overtime after Tennessee got the ball first and kicked a field goal.
It would be an understatement to say Minshew was hyped in the locker room after the game. The quarterback showed off some serious dance moves.
Who knew Minshew could move like that?
Minshew began the season as Indy’s backup behind rookie Anthony Richardson, who suffered a shoulder injury in Week 5. Minshew has been the starter since. He has had a few low moments, most notably when he pulled a Dan Orlovsky early in the year (video here).
But Minshew has been steady overall, which is a big reason the Colts are 7-5 and squarely in the playoff hunt. The 27-year-old had every right to turn up after Sunday’s OT win.

The New England Patriots accomplished a feat on Sunday that we have not seen in nearly a century, and it is one that will likely make team owner Robert Kraft nauseous.
The Patriots were defeated 6-0 by the Los Angeles Chargers at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. They allowed 10 or fewer points for the third consecutive game but have somehow lost five straight.
According to CBS, the Patriots are now the first team since 1938 to lose three consecutive games in which their opponent scored 10 or fewer points.
Bailey Zappe started for the Patriots on Sunday instead of Mac Jones, and the results somehow got worse. That just goes to show you how bad New England’s roster is from top to bottom. We saw another stat last week that illustrated how horrendous Bill Belichick’s team has been on offense.
The Patriots fell to 2-10 on the season with the loss. They still have a chance to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz certainly has a sense of humor, even when it comes to being drawn against the Ohio State Buckeyes in a bowl game.
Drinkwitz offered his reaction to the Tigers facing the Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl in a live interview with Rece Davis on ESPN. He closed the interview by jokingly saying he had to take a call from Connor Stalions.
“Guys, I got a quick phone call, Connor Stalions beeping in right here,” Drinkwitz joked. “I’m trying to get a few signals here, so I gotta go. As soon as we get done, look forward to competing against Ryan Day.”
Stalions is, of course, the fired Michigan staffer accused of leading the school’s sign-stealing operation. He would presumably know something about Ohio State’s signals that could help Missouri.
This is not the first time Drinkwitz has had some fun at Michigan’s expense over the allegations. His team will likely be underdogs against Ohio State, sign-stealing or not.
The Houston Texans won on Sunday to firmly entrench themselves in the AFC playoff race, but they lost one of their breakout players in the process.
Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a fractured fibula during Sunday’s win over Denver, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The injury is likely to keep him out for the rest of the season.
Dell suffered the injury when he got rolled up in a pile while blocking on a Dameon Pierce touchdown run.
Dell had emerged as one of Houston’s leading receivers this season. Going into Sunday’s game, he had 47 catches for 709 yards and a team-leading seven touchdown receptions. Houston will likely have to lean hard on the likes of Nico Collins and Dalton Schultz with Dell sidelined.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr left Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions after taking a huge shot from defensive lineman Bruce Irvin.
Carr took a big hit on a pass during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game and was in clear pain on the ground after the hit. The cart was brought out for him, but Carr was able to walk off under his own power, albeit without moving his right arm.
Jameis Winston replaced Carr at quarterback. Carr went to the locker room a few moments later.
Carr suffered multiple injuries on the hit. The Saints called him doubtful to return with shoulder and back injuries, and he was also put in concussion protocol.
For what it’s worth, roughing the passer was called on Irvin for the hit, as he drove his weight into Carr after knocking the quarterback down.
Carr has been knocked out of games more than once this season after taking big hits, but this might have been the biggest of all. Hopefully things are not as bad as they looked for him.
Kyler Murray has always had a unique sense of style, and the Arizona Cardinals quarterback outdid himself on Sunday.
Murray showed up to Acrisure Stadium for Arizona’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers wearing easily one of the most ridiculous outfits we have ever seen from a professional athlete, and that is saying a lot. He was wearing a light pink and green puffy coat, pink hat and pink shorts.
There is no possible way Murray thought that outfit looked good. He had to have been trolling, right?
At least the wardrobe selection led to some great memes.
We thought Murray could never look worse than when he pulled a Michael Scott before a game last year. We were wrong.
Florida State was left out of the College Football Playoff on Sunday, and there may have been as many people upset about that in Ann Arbor as there were in Tallahassee.
The Seminoles finished fifth in the final College Football Playoff ranking despite going undefeated and winning the ACC. Had they gotten into the CFP, they likely would have been the No. 4 team and faced top overall seed Michigan. The Wolverines will now face Alabama in the semifinal, instead.
It sure seems like Michigan players and coaches would have rather faced Florida State. There was a collective gasp at Michigan’s watch party when Alabama was revealed as the 4th seed.
We eventually heard some clapping, but no one in Ann Arbor seemed all that excited about facing Nick Saban’s team. That is a probably a great indication that Alabama is one of the four-best teams in the country, at least in the eyes of their next opponent.
Florida State has been without starting quarterback Jordan Travis, who suffered a season-ending leg injury. Michigan was probably hoping to face a backup quarterback in the semifinal, but they now have to match up with an SEC powerhouse that just handed Georgia its first loss in two years.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ new offense will have to get the job done without its quarterback for the rest of Sunday’s game.
Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett left Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with what the team characterized as an ankle injury. After initially being dubbed questionable to return, Pickett was ruled out for the rest of the game at halftime.
The injury happened late in the first half, with Pickett seemingly having his leg twist awkwardly beneath him while being tackled. He limped off the field with some assistance after the injury.
Backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky took over for Pickett to open the second half.
Injuries have been a recurring theme for Pickett, particularly this season. He also left a Week 8 game early with a different issue. The good news is that none of these injuries have proved serious in the past, but this is not something the Steelers will want to become a trend.

Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis sent a heartbreaking message after his team was shockingly excluded from the College Football Playoff field.
Travis admitted he was “devastated” and “heartbroken” by Florida State’s exclusion from the final four-team field. The star quarterback, who suffered a broken leg two weeks ago, even said he wished he had suffered the injury earlier in the season so the rest of the roster had more of a chance to demonstrate how good it was.
“I wish my leg broke earlier in the season so y’all could see this team is much more than the quarterback,” Travis wrote. “I thought results matter. 13-0 and this roster matches up across any team in those top 4 rankings. I am so sorry.”
In contrast to the angry statements from administrators, Travis’ comment is just heartbreaking. His injury was certainly a major factor in diminishing the Seminoles in the eyes of the selection committee, and there is fundamentally nothing he could do about it.
Travis was Florida State’s quarterback for the first 11 games of the season, throwing 20 touchdown passes to two interceptions while rushing for seven more scores.
A sideline official suffered a gruesome leg injury during Sunday’s game between the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.
Saints running back Alvin Kamara was forced out of bounds by a Lions defender on a third-down running play late in the first half. Kamara accidentally took out the legs of a member of the chain gang, which is something that happens fairly often. Unfortunately, it appeared to lead to a serious injury in this instance.
The official remained down on the ground and grabbed at his left leg, which was bent in a direction you never want to see. We won’t show the injury because it was so gruesome, but you can see it here.
The game was briefly stopped while the official received medical attention on the sideline.
