Cordell Broadus quit football to pursue film career
Cordell Broadus has decided to forgo playing football at UCLA in favor of furthering his career in film.
Shortly after word surfaced on Friday that Broadus had quit the team, UCLA coach Jim Mora released a statement saying he supports Cordell’s decision.
“Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in life – in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions,” Mora said. “Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA.”
Broadus, the son of rapper Snoop Dogg, will remain enrolled at UCLA. Earlier reports indicated that he may have only decided to play football because his father has always wanted him to.
It goes without saying that Broadus has great financial resources on his side, so he certainly doesn’t need a career in football. While Mora must be disappointed that the Bruins have lost a four-star wide receiver recruit, you can’t fault a young man for changing his mind.
