Our friend Jerod Morris of Midwest Sports Fans is doing a four-week college football road trip sponsored by La Quinta (which is sponsoring this post), and his first stop was in Norman last weekend to watch Oklahoma lose to Kansas State.
In his recap of the game, (and he has plenty of cool pics and videos for you to check out), Jerod notes that Oklahoma fans were calling for quarterback Landry Jones to be benched.
Jones is a senior QB and was expected to be a Heisman Trophy contender. He’s coming off back-to-back 4,000-yard seasons, and he threw for 38 touchdowns and only 12 picks last season.
Though the offense didn’t do enough damage on Saturday, Jones still went 28/43 for 298 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. I’m sure most college football programs would love to have him as their QB, but Sooners fans wanted him benched.
You know how it goes with fans — they’re never satisfied unless they’re going undefeated.
