Congressmen Take Shots at Jay Cutler

Jay Cutler is such an easy target for public ridicule that even politicians are taking shots at him. Appearing to speak at the Economic Forum in Chicago, Wisconsin representative Paul Ryan started off his speech with a few knocks against Cutler, according to FOX News.

“I want to thank you all for inviting me to speak. It was especially gracious of you to host me, even though I’m a Packers fan and I assume most of you are Bears fans,” Ryan began.

“But that doesn’t mean we can’t work together. As chairman of the House Budget Committee, I stand ready to do whatever it takes to help you re-sign Jay Cutler. I’m here to talk about the economy today — about the need to get four quarters of strong, consistent performance. That wasn’t another Jay Cutler joke, I swear. It could be, but it’s not,” he continued.

You might think that was enough Jay Cutler hate for a political event, but it didn’t stop there.

“Republicans would be better off with Jay Cutler as their candidate in Wisconsin. Cutler has at least helped the Green Bay Packers win a Super Bowl, while Tommy G. Thompson has spent the last decade doing the bidding of the Bush administration and his special-interest clients at his lobbying firm,” Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman Matt Canter said, referring to Cutler pulling out of the NFC Championship Game.

Let’s see, we can now add congressmen Matt Canter and Paul Ryan to Trent Dilfer, a naked arrested man, and half the NFL as people who ridicule Cutler. Between his body language, boasts, and propensity for tossing picks, it’s easy to hold something against him, so this isn’t a surprise. What is surprising is that the congressmen pay such close attention to sports. Either that, or Jay Cutler’s reputation is notoriously bad.
