Report: Dak Prescott signs with Dannon after they dropped Cam Newton

Dak Prescott

Cam Newton lost at least one big sponsor this week in the wake of his sexist comments toward a female reporter, but the company that dropped him has already hitched its wagon to another star quarterback.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Dak Prescott has signed with Dannon Yogurt and is scheduled to shoot his first television commercial with the company later in the week. Prescott, who already has endorsements with Pepsi, Frito-Lay and Beats, has signed more endorsement deals this year than any other player in the NFL.

Newton will remain under contract with Dannon, but the company said it has begun the process of removing him from advertisements. The yogurt maker released a statement on Thursday condemning the remarks Newton made toward Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer.

While some say he should have done it sooner, Newton posted a heartfelt apology on his Twitter after receiving a ton of backlash for saying it was “funny” to hear a female asking a question about wide receivers running routes.
