Anderson Silva goes off on Chael Sonnen: ‘I’m going to beat his ass like he’s never been beaten before’ (Audio)

Chael Sonnen is the biggest trash talker in MMA, and probably the biggest in all of sports. Sometimes his smack is done in jest, or to hype a fight, and other times probably because that’s just who he is.

Anderson Silva has obviously heard enough from Sonnen over the past few years, and he absolutely let loose on the man he’ll be facing in a rematch at UFC 148 on July 7.

Responding to a question during a media conference call on Monday, Silva went off.

“First of all, Chael is a criminal,” Silva said, according to a translator, per MMA Fighting. “He’s been convicted of crimes. He doesn’t deserve to be inside of the octagon. When the time comes and the time is right, I’m going to break his face and break every one of the teeth in his mouth.”

Silva was just getting warmed up.

“What I’m going to do inside the octagon is something that’s going to change the image of the sport,” he said. “I’m going to beat his ass like he’s never been beaten before. I’m going to make sure that every one of his teeth are broken, his arms are broken, his legs are broken. He’s not going to be able to walk out of the octagon by himself. I can guarantee that.”

According to MMA Fighting, some Brazilian outlets say Silva’s translator softened what he said. If that’s the case, I don’t want to know what his real words were.

That amazing thing is that Sonnen didn’t even miss a beat when asked for a reaction, calling Silva an “amateur.”

It’s pretty obvious that Silva hates Sonnen because this was out of character. The only thing is I doubt Sonnen holds to his promise to leave the UFC if he loses.
