Brittney GrinerBrittney Griner publicly came out as gay last month. The former Baylor center says she has been out since high school, so it’s not like she was hiding something. But maybe her announcement has led to more jeers from the public. Whatever the case, Griner thinks all the gay jokes are lame.

Take a look at what the current Phoenix Mercury center tweeted on Thursday:

Yes, so for the record, calling someone “gay” is not an insult. It’s just stupid. And in the case of Griner, she’s heard it all, so give it up already.

Jarron Collins straight shirt

Jason Collins gained nationwide notoriety when he recently announced that he is gay. Collins went from being a relatively unknown professional basketball player to being pretty identifiable in a matter of weeks. Naturally, Collins’ fame has created a lot of confusion for his twin brother, Jarron, who is straight.

Late night television host Jimmy Kimmel decided to help solve that problem by giving Jarron a great T-shirt during the brothers’ interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday. Collins held up the shirt with a big smile and received laughs from Kimmel and his brother upon receiving the shirt at the end of the interview. He was even spotted wearing the shirt out in public. Jarron might have to continue wearing the shirt because he told Kimmel someone approached him at a urinal recently and asked if he was Jason.

In the interview with Kimmel, Jarron talked about when his brother broke the news to him about being gay. He said that he and his wife had been trying to set up Jason with women and totally missed all the “red flags” about the situation, such as Jason always finding a reason for why it didn’t work.

Tommy Wilson Notre Dame pitcher

Tommy Wilson, the son of the actor who played “Biff” in the “Back to the Future” movies, is emerging as a pitcher for a high school in Los Angeles.

Wilson is a junior pitcher for Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) High School, and he threw five scoreless innings during a wild-card playoff game against Riverside North on Tuesday. The youngster struck out eight in the Knights’ 6-1 victory.

According to Los Angeles Times high school sports reporter Eric Sondheimer, Wilson started off the season as a long reliever and has gone 3-1 since getting a chance to start a few weeks ago.

“I just kept working as hard as I could in the bullpen,” Wilson told The Times. “After I got out of the first inning, I felt real good.”

Wilson has been pretty dominant, too. According to his profile on Max Preps, Wilson entered Tuesday’s game with a 1.68 ERA in 33.1 innings pitched. He allowed just 20 hits, eight runs and eight walks while striking out 44.

Wilson’s father, Thomas F. Wilson, apparently kept a low profile at the game.

“He must increase and I must decrease,” Thomas Wilson joked to Sondheimer. “Fortunately, he got his mother’s athletic prowess and his father’s good looks.”

Hopefully he avoided all the manure trucks on the way home from the game.

Wilson’s YouTube channel lists him at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds. His profile says his fastball is consistently in the mid-80s and that he also throws a cutter, change-up, and curveball.

Wilson’s Notre Dame squad will face Agoura High School in the first round of the playoffs on Thursday.

Notre Dame has also produced Major Leaguers Giancarlo Stanton, Brendan Ryan, Brett Hayes, Chris Dickerson, and former Cy Young winner Jack McDowell. Maybe one day Wilson will join the group.

Austin Aries Christy HemmeTNA wrestler Austin Aries was reportedly fined by the organization for shoving his crotch in announcer Christy Hemme’s face during a recent event, TMZ reports.

Aries was upset with Hemme for calling him and his tag team partner by the wrong names during introductions. Upon entering the ring, Aries confronted Hemme and ordered her to introduce them again. He then got up on the ropes and shoved his crotch in her face in an unscripted move.

Hemme was pretty upset with the move and called it “unacceptable”:

Two days later, Aries was making light of the incident over Twitter:

Tony Allen SMHWell, that’s one way to play defense.

Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen was on the bench for a breather during the third quarter of Game 5 between the Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder, but that didn’t stop him from trying to defend his opponents. As Derek Fisher was spotting up for an open 3-pointer, Allen threw a shirt onto the court (or it slipped out while he was waving his shirt). Though Fisher missed the shot, the referees gave OKC credit for the basket because of Allen’s interference. Allen also got a technical foul for the shirt throw. Kevin Durant made the foul shot to give the Thunder a 4-point play, making the score 60-53 Memphis.

Here’s a look at the shirt throw in GIF form:

LeBron James’ tendency to act on the court during situations of contact was heavily debated over the past week.

James was shoved by Bulls backup center Nazr Mohammed during Game 3 of the Miami Heat-Chicago series and seemed to sell how forcefully he was pushed. Nate Robinson and Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said they felt James flopped on the play. After being scrutinized, James responded by telling everyone, “I don’t flop.”

Well James’ acting was in question again in Game 5.

James was bringing the ball up court in the fourth quarter of Game 5 with around seven minutes left and the Bulls up 81-80. Robinson went straight for James and hit him in the face. Both of them fell down. Analyst Steve Kerr thought it was pretty bad, saying “that was close to a flagrant on Nate Robinson.” Replays seemed to show James snap his head back to exaggerate how badly he was hit:

Pass through Birdman's legDwyane Wade threw a pretty creative pass during Game 5 between the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.

Wade was being guarded by Carlos Boozer in the second quarter when he slipped and fell to the ground. Since he was being double-teamed, he decided to pass the ball from under the basket, but it’s unclear exactly to whom he was directing the pass. His pass went between teammate Chris Andersen’s legs to Ray Allen who was waiting in the corner. Allen missed the three, so Wade didn’t get credit for the assist, but give him credit for the creative pass.

Now the question must be asked: was Wade intending to throw the pass to Birdman or Allen?
