Doc Brown’s NFL Picks Agains the Spread: Week 7

Man, last weekend was like taking candy from a baby. We swept the board going 3-0 to improve to 11-7 on the year, and you didn’t even have to sweat for two of the picks. Considering the fact that last weekend was blowout city for Doc’s picks despite there being several close games, I think we’re starting to isolate the strong plays each week. May the trend continue in week 7. Allow me to bring to you Doc Brown’s NFL Picks courtesy of Betus.com, your home for the latest NFL lines.

Pick time.

Jets -3 @ Raiders – Even though record would indicate otherwise, Oakland might be the worst team in football right now. Their coach was fired, they’re in turmoil, and they got blown out following a bye week when they had two weeks to prep. I’m guessing the players have packed it in for the season. Jets should shred ’em.

Colts -1.5 @ Packers – Indy was a strong play last week and I like them again this week. I think their offense has started to click, mainly because the line is giving Peyton more time to operate. If he’s well-protected, they’re lethal. Even if it takes a field goal to pull it out, Colts should cover. And the Packers running game has looked so awful they might not even be able to take advantage of Indy’s weak run defense.

Bengals +9.5
vs. Steelers – I’m not going to say Cincy’s going to notch its first win of the season, but something just tells me 9.5 is too much to pass up. Maybe it’s because the bye week passed and Willie Parker’s still not ready to play. Maybe it’s because the Bengals defense has kept them in games moderately. Maybe it’s one of those games where Cincy gets a turnover or two to stay in it. I just think 9.5 is too much.
