NFL Picks Against the Spread Week 10 – Doc Brown Special

Doc Brown is coming off a pair of 1-2 weeks on his Top 3. Those were preceded by two 3-0 weeks, so that means it’s time to get back into winning. The Doc is feeling really good about his picks this week, so he’s proud to share them. Let’s look at the Doc’s picks for week 10 of the season, along with analysis below the chart.

NFL PICKS WEEK 10
(ATS = Against the Spread, SU = Straight Up)

The Doc wasn’t much of a believer in the Bills all year, and the Jets seemed to expose them last week. However, we still believe the offense will do enough to keep it close (particularly in the passing game where Dallas has a few injuries to its secondary). Additionally, the Cowboys, for whatever reason, seem incapable of a blowout. Tony Romo is usually good for a turnover or two, and he should come true on that especially against Buffalo’s opportunistic defense. Dallas’ passing game is good, but not quite as explosive without Miles Austin who re-injured his hamstring last week.

The Giants have been one of the steadiest teams in the league this year, with the exception of their week one struggle against the Redskins, and their home debacle against the Seahawks. They’re a reasonably good road team (though they needed help from a ref to beat the Cardinals). San Francisco’s defense has been dominant, but I like New York’s chances of scoring more than the Niners’. It should be a close game, and I like the Giants to win it straight up.

The Vikings are nearly a two touchdown dog at Green Bay. I’ve been burned going against the Packers, but that just seems like an awfully lot of points. Christian Ponder looked very good in the first meeting between the teams, and he gives Minnesota a legitimate chance of competing. I think they’ll hang with the Packers. I see this as more of a 7-9 point game rather than a two-touchdown blowout.
