Report: Dustin Johnson not in rehab, golfing with girlfriend Paulina Gretzky

Dustin-Johnson-Paulina-Gretzky

Dustin Johnson announced last week that he is taking a voluntary leave of absence from golf to “seek professional help for personal challenges I have faced.” Couple that with a report about Johnson being suspended for six months for failing a drug test for cocaine, and many drew the conclusion that Johnson is heading to rehab. That doesn’t appear to be the case.

According to Golf Channel’s Tim Rosaforte, Johnson has been spending time at a golf resort in Northern Idaho with Paulina Gretzky and her family.

“Most thought [the announcement] was a hint that he was going to a treatment center,” Rosaforte said Wednesday. “Instead, he’s been up in Northern Idaho at Gozzer Ranch [Golf and Lake Club], hanging out with the Gretzky family, caddying for Paulina in the club’s ladies’ member-guest, and playing a lot of golf, playing almost every day.”

And apparently DJ’s golf game remains on point.

“He shot 61 this week, could have been a 59,” Rosaforte added.

It should be noted that Johnson could still be meeting with some sort of counselor and spending time with his future in-laws, but he obviously isn’t at any type of overnight rehab center. Remember that report we shared with you about Wayne Gretzky warning Johnson to clean up his act? Maybe The Great One is the therapist.

Wayne Gretzky told Dustin Johnson to clean up his act?

dustin-johnsonDustin Johnson has supposedly had problems off the golf course for quite some time now, and it sounds like his behavior was a cause for concern for his future father-in-law. Did Wayne Gretzky have a chat with Johnson to tell him to tone down the partying?

According to Hollie McKay of FOX411, the Great One did just that. Gretzky, father of Johnson’s 25-year-old fiancee Paulina Gretzky, reportedly told Johnson at one point to “clean up his act” or there would be no wedding. The Gretzkys are said to be well aware of Johnson’s party boy antics, and Wayne has tried to be a positive influence.

Johnson and Paulina Gretzky got engaged last summer and were initially planning a Fall 2014 wedding. Wayne Gretzky later said in an interview that the wedding has been postponed due to Johnson’s busy schedule, but it would be fair to wonder if there was more to it than that.

Johnson has taken a “voluntary leave of absence” from golf and the PGA Tour insists he has not been suspended, though a report from Golf.com claims he was suspended for six months after testing positive for cocaine. In addition to the drug allegations, Johnson has also been accused of sleeping with at least one other PGA Tour golfer’s wife.

It is unclear what effect, if any, Johnson’s troubles will have (or have had) on his relationship with Paulina.

Did Dustin Johnson sleep with PGA wife Alli MacKenzie?

Alli-MacKenzieThe rumors surrounding Dustin Johnson are piling up by the minute in the wake of a report that the 30-year-old has been suspended for six months by the PGA Tour for testing positive for cocaine. Buried within Golf.com’s story about Johnson’s suspension is a tidbit about him having a “sexual indiscretion” with “at least one wife of a PGA Tour player.”

So who was the PGA Tour wife?

Some have speculated that Johnson had a sexual encounter with Alli MacKenzie, the ex-wife of PGA golfer Will MacKenzie. Fox Sports senior golf analyst Robert Lusetich tweeted Friday that it is “not a huge secret” that Johnson had affairs with two wives of PGA players and broke up one marriage.

Our friends at Busted Coverage asked the former model about her relationship with Johnson, and here’s what she had to say.

“We are still friends,” MacKenzie told Busted Coverage. “And Will and I were separated before the supposed indiscretion night. It just wasn’t made public.”

MacKenzie added that she sees Johnson as a “normal guy” who enjoys partying like anyone else his age. She was then asked to clarify that the alleged night with Johnson did not lead to her marital problems.

“Will and I were already separating before this rumor started,” she said. “We both like DJ and wish him the best for sure.”

Some of what MacKenzie was trying to say is clear, and some isn’t. Alli insists Johnson had nothing to do with the marital problems between her and Will, but she didn’t actually say whether she slept with him. She could have simply meant that the rumor about him breaking up a marriage started before she and Will decided to separate — not that they slept together.

Johnson and MacKenzie may not have slept together, but we’re fairly confident DJ has had a romp or two with this lovely lady:

Dustin Johnson reportedly had sex with another PGA golfer’s wife

Dustin-Johnson-Paulina-GretzkyDustin Johnson has reportedly been suspended from the PGA Tour for testing positive for cocaine. While there have always been rumors linking Johnson’s name to drugs and partying, very few details were ever known. That changed on Friday, as Golf.com also reports that Johnson is known to have had a “sexual indiscretion” with another PGA Tour player’s wife.

Simply put, Dustin doesn’t sound like a stand-up guy.

Johnson’s conduct has long been a topic of conversation among close observers of the Tour. He is often seen in bars near his home in Jupiter, Fla., and is also known to have had a sexual indiscretion with at least one wife of a PGA Tour player.

That could mean a number of things, but the implication is obviously that Johnson had sex with a co-worker’s wife. If that is true, the details aren’t all that important.

It is unclear when the alleged sexual encounter would have taken place. Johnson is engaged to Paulina Gretzky and has been dating her for quite some time, so the timing of the incident may or may not add another disturbing element to the story. Recent photos of Johnson and Gretzky seem to indicate that they are quite happy together.

Johnson was also reportedly suspended from the PGA Tour in 2012 for a positive cocaine test, though he has always maintained that he was out for several weeks with a back injury. There is obviously a lot we don’t know about him.

You can see photos of Johnson’s soon-to-be wife below:

Dustin Johnson suspended for positive cocaine test

dustin-johnsonDustin Johnson announced on Thursday that he is taking a leave of absence from golf to sort out some personal issues. Part of that is true, but the 30-year-old left out the part about him failing a drug test and being suspended.

According to Golf.com, Johnson is serving a six-month suspension for testing positive for cocaine. He has reportedly failed three drug tests during his time on the PGA Tour — one in 2009 for marijuana, one for cocaine in 2012 and now this.

Under the PGA Tour’s anti-doping policy, drug violations involving any substance deemed to be performance-enhancing are made public. Violations involving recreational drugs are not, which is why Johnson’s failed test in 2012 remained under wraps. As we explained previously, Johnson has denied that he was suspended in 2012 and always maintained that he chose to take time off for injury.

“I will use this time to seek professional help for personal challenges I have faced,” Johnson said in a statement on Thursday. “By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion.”

The PGA Tour followed with a statement wishing Johnson well and had no comment when asked directly about his failed drug tests and suspensions.

Johnson, one of the longest hitters on the Tour, was having one of the best seasons of his professional career. He finished 4th at the US Open and 12th at the Open Championship and had seven top-10 finishes overall. He will now miss the PGA Championship and the FedEx Cup playoffs in addition to the Ryder Cup in September.

As most of you know, Johnson is engaged to Paulina Gretzky. You can see some photos of the seemingly happy couple here.

Dustin Johnson announced on Thursday that he is taking a leave of absence from golf, which came as a shock to most who have followed him this season. Johnson has seven top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour in 2014 and has played well in majors, finishing 4th at the US Open and 12th at The Open Championship earlier this month.

In addition to his performance on the course, Johnson always seems to be killing it in his personal life. We know people use social media to mask their problems, but Johnson and his fiancee Paulina Gretzky are constantly looked at with envy. The photo you see above was posted on Johnson’s Instagram earlier this month. Here are some others:

Dustin Johnson once linked to drugs

“I am taking a leave of absence from professional golf, effective immediately,” Johnson said, via USA Today Sports. “I will use this time to seek professional help for personal challenges I have faced. By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion.

“I respectfully ask my fans, well-wishers and the media for privacy as I embark upon this mission of self-improvement.”

Last year, Vijay Singh filed a lawsuit against the PGA Tour after he was suspended for violating the tour’s anti-doping program. Singh felt that he was being targeted after several players had violated the same policy but were only told by the PGA Tour to stop using certain substances.

Singh’s lawyers requested any information related to a “possible or actual violation of the drug program” by five golfers — Doug Barron, Mark Calcavecchia, Scott Verplank, Matt Every and Johnson. Barron, Calcavecchia and Every all had known violations, but it is unclear why Singh’s lawyers included Verplank and Johnson.

Johnson later dismissed Singh’s probe in an interview with the Golf Channel, saying he doesn’t know why Singh would single him out and that there is “nothing there.” He also said he has never been reprimanded by the PGA Tour for any drug-related violation.

Under the Tour’s anti-doping policy, drug violations involving anything deemed to be a performance-enhancing substance are made public. Violations that have to do with recreational drugs are not.
