Watch: Cody Bellinger gets assist from Rockies’ David Dahl on home run
Things are going so well for Cody Bellinger at the plate this season that he’s even getting help from his opponents.
Bellinger on Thursday was credited with his 27th home run of the season after Colorado Rockies center fielder David Dahl’s misplay pushed the ball over the fence at Coors Field. Bellinger was leading off the top of the second off Peter Lambert and hit a ball to deep left-center. Dahl drifted back and leaped to make the catch but he misplayed it and knocked the ball over the wall:
David Dahl should get some credit for that dinger #LADvsCOL pic.twitter.com/DzR1dSlcYo

Making matters worse, Max Muncy homered on the next pitch to put the Dodgers up 2-0.
Dahl has shown us in the past he’s not the slickest fielder, but this is a really embarrassing level. That should have been a flyout but instead went for a dinger. That hurts.
