Twitter reacts to Dodgers starter Hyun-Jin Ryu getting bombed in first inning
Hyun-Jin Ryu was absolutely bombed in the first inning of Game 6 of the NLCS in Milwaukee on Friday night, completely undoing all the good that came from David Freese’s home run to lead off the game.
Ryu gave up an infield single to Lorenzo Cain, a walk to Ryan Braun, and then with two outs, he allowed a double to Jesus Aguilar, a double to Mike Moustakas, a single to Erik Kratz, and a single to Orlando Arcia before finally getting the pitcher out to end the inning. To put things in perspective, this was the first time all season Ryu had given up four runs in an inning and only the second time this season he had allowed four runs in an outing.

Ryu picked the wrong game to suck.

Ryu didn’t just give up tons of big hits in a row, but the hitters to whom he allowed them had been cold.
Jesus Aguilar, Mike Moustakas and Erik Kratz were a combined 7-for-50 (.140) in the NLCS including 0-for-8 with six strikeouts with runners in scoring position before roping three straight run-scoring RISP hits two outs in the first inning for a 4-1 Brewers lead.

Ryu was just missing his targets with his pitches and making his stuff very easy to hit. Some wondered why Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts even left him in the game as long as he did rather than pull him while he was in trouble against the Brewers. The Dodgers lead the series 3-2.
