ESPN reporter Buster Olney causes social media frenzy after being hacked
ESPN MLB reporter Buster Olney inadvertently caused a frenzy on social media Monday after his X account got hacked.
Olney’s posts on X are generally spaced far apart, and his most recent activity on the social media service seemed to have been on Sunday night. But then Olney’s account exploded Monday afternoon with a flurry of posts, including a few mentioning he had been hacked.
Sorry..
I got hacked!

“I swear to you I don’t even know who I hacked, who is this Buster?” Olney’s account posted.

Then the hacker posted several MLB trade reports, ranging from Luis Robert being traded by the White Sox to the Phillies, to the Mets sending Francisco Lindor to the Oakland A’s.

If you had just seen the report from Olney about Robert being traded, you might have believed it. But the Lindor being sent to the A’s was so outlandish it absolutely confirmed the hack job.
Olney better get a hold of his account pronto!
