Ryne Sandberg says he got food poisoning from Shake Shack at Citi Field

If Ryne Sandberg looks a little lighter to you, it’s probably because the Phillies manager dropped a couple of LBs in the past few days.

According to CSN Philly’s Jim Salisbury, Ryno told reporters Tuesday that he lost six pounds in two days because of food poisoning he got from eating a burger at the Shake Shack at Citi Field where the Phils were playing a 3-game series.

I’m not sure how well the people of New York are going to take this. Shake Shack is a beloved chain. Sandberg saying he got sick from it won’t go over well.

Then again, we’ve seen countless examples in the past of visiting players/coaches getting sick from the food they ate in the opponent’s city. Never trust them!
