Alderson, who turned 68 last month, had a health scare recently when he fainted while discussing the contract extension the Mets had reached with manager Terry Collins. A team official said that the GM hadn’t eaten anything that morning and felt lightheaded before the press conference. It’s unclear if that incident was related to Alderson’s diagnosis.
We wish Alderson all the best and hope he is able to make a full and speedy recovery.
