Oakland A’s outfielder Stephen Piscotty committed an error in the first inning of his team’s win over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday, and let’s just say it will probably hurt more on Monday morning.
In the top of the first, center fielder Dustin Fowler stuck his arms out to indicate that he had lost a fly ball in the sun. Piscotty, who was playing right field, tried to race over and make the play, but he too was unable to see the ball clearly. Unfortunately, it ended up deflecting off his glove and then right off the top of his head.

The important thing is the A’s went on to win. Piscotty has been through an awful lot in his personal life this season, so a fly ball off the noggin probably feels like nothing in the grand scheme of things. And as Jose Canseco can tell him, it could have been much worse.
