St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Stephen Piscotty was carted off the field at PNC Park in Pittsburgh on Monday after colliding with teammate Peter Bourjos while trying to catch a ball in the gap.
The Pirates’ Josh Harrison drove a ball into the left-center gap to lead off the bottom of the seventh, right between Piscotty and Bourjos. Piscotty dove for the ball and went head-first into Bourjos’ knee. Bourjos made the catch and immediately signaled to the trainers to come examine and help Piscotty.

Trainers immediately ran onto the field to examine Piscotty, who was eventually carted off on a stretcher. He did wave his arms from the stretcher, which was a great sign.
The Cardinals said he suffered a head contusion. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The team also issued this good news:
All test results conducted on Stephen Picotty at hospital were negative. He will be held overnight for observation
