Trevor Bauer considering going nuclear on MLB?
Trevor Bauer has left the door open to legal action against Major League Baseball if he remains out of the league.
Bauer reacted on X to a series of posts from veteran baseball writer Bill James suggesting MLB could face legal exposure if the league does not encourage teams to sign Bauer. James argued that Bauer could claim to have lost millions of dollars from an initial suspension that was the result of a “flawed and hasty investigation” into sexual assault allegations against the then-Dodgers pitcher.
Another social media user put this to Bauer, who did not rule out following the path laid out by James. Bauer wrote that he would “really prefer not to go this route,” but “may have no other choice” if he continues to be “kept out” of the league. Bauer added that he does not want the situation to come to that, and would simply like the chance to continue the career he said was “taken from me over provably false allegations that never held any merit to begin with.”
I’d really prefer not to go this route but if I continue being kept out of baseball as I currently am I may have no other choice. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that and I’m allowed to return to my career that was taken from me over provably false allegations that never held any…

Bauer has not pitched in MLB since facing accusations of sexual misconduct from Lindsey Hill in 2021. He was originally suspended two years by MLB over the allegations but had the suspension reduced to 194 games by an arbitrator.
Last year, Bauer and Hill dropped and settled their lawsuits against each other. Bauer published a video at the time that included evidence he felt exonerated him.
Bauer’s latest statement comes as he is dominating the Mexican League with a 1.56 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 69.1 innings. On Friday, he struck out 19 batters in 8.2 innings.
