The New York Yankees have been consistently linked to Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ over the past several days, and they finally worked out a deal to land the left-hander on Thursday.
According to multiple reports, the Yankees are sending third baseman Brandon Drury and outfield prospect Billy McKinney to Toronto for Happ.

Starting pitching has been one of New York’s weaknesses this season, and Happ gives them a veteran left-hander who has extensive experience pitching in the AL East. He should help solidify their rotation down the stretch and into the playoffs.
On the other side, Drury could be a nice addition for the Blue Jays if Josh Donaldson leaves in free agency this summer. While he is hitting just .176 this season, Drury is only 25 and has had very few opportunities with the Yankees. He’s also under team control for three more years.
