New York Knicks fans took over at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. earlier this week, and the Philadelphia 76ers’ owner wants to ensure that doesn’t happen again.
The Knicks won Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series with the Sixers in Philly on Sunday. Knicks fans took over the arena and even were doing anti-Joel Embiid chants. The Sixers won Game 5 of the series at Madison Square Garden in New York to force a sixth game, putting Philly in a predicament.
Since the 76ers’ owners don’t want Knicks fans taking over again, they bought 2,000 tickets for Game 6 and are giving them out to first responders, health care professionals and other local Philadelphia-based organizations.

Philly fans have a reputation for being among the best and most passionate in sports. For owners of a Philly sports team to have to resort to this measure to keep opposing fans out of a home playoff game is nothing short of shocking, but that’s where we are.
The Knicks still lead the series 3-2 ahead of Thursday’s Game 6.
