The NBA pulled the 2017 NBA All-Star Game from Charlotte, North Carolina due to concerns over the state’s controversial HB2 law (also known as the “bathroom bill”), but things are looking up now that it has been repealed.
At the NBA Board of Governors News Conference on Friday, commissioner Adam Silver announced that Charlotte will be eligible to host the 2019 All-Star Game after last month’s repeal of HB2, a measure that infringed on the rights of North Carolina’s LGBT community.

In light of the law, the league took 2017 All-Star festivities to New Orleans instead. The 2018 All-Star Game is already set to take place in Los Angeles, but it’s good to see the NBA doing right by North Carolina now that they have apparently begun to do right by the community.
