Anthony Davis reportedly meeting with Pelicans exec David Griffin on Wednesday
The New Orleans Pelicans are hoping to convince Anthony Davis to stick with the franchise now that they are in position to draft Zion Williamson, and one of their new top executives will get an opportunity to make his pitch this week.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Davis is expected to sit down for a meeting with Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin on Wednesday.

After the Pelicans earned the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft despite having just a 6 percent chance of landing there, a report indicated Davis still wants to be traded. Griffin, however, seems confident that he can get Davis to change his mind.
If Davis does stay, the Pelicans will have one of the most exciting young cores in basketball with him and Williamson. They could also look to add another star free agent, though New Orleans has not historically been a place where top players want to go.
