Despite some optimism from the organization, the news on Anthony Davis’s future for the New Orleans Pelicans is not positive.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Davis is unlikely to change his stance on a trade despite meetings with Pelicans EVP David Griffin. Davis demanded a trade late in the regular season, and it does not appear that New Orleans will be able to change his mind.
While New Orleans Pelicans executive Vice President David Griffin and All-Star Anthony Davis‘ agent Rich Paul will continue discussions, it’s highly unlikely Davis‘ stance changes on trade, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Despite initial optimism from Griffin’s side of things, it doesn’t seem there’s much the Pelicans can do to convince Davis to stay. He has one season left on his contract and, by all accounts, still wants out. As long as that remains the case, it’s likely that the Pelicans will have no choice but to engage in trade talks sooner rather than later.
