Report: Clippers think Blake Griffin could miss two months with broken hand
Blake Griffin’s altercation with a team equipment staffer could end up costing him nearly the entire remainder of the regular season.
The Clippers reportedly believe that Griffin’s broken hand could cause him to miss the next two months, according to ESPN’s Zach Lowe.
Such a timetable would keep Griffin out until about two weeks before the playoffs begin, which means the Clippers would have to find a way to quickly reintegrate him into the team, and he wouldn’t have long to shake off what would be considerable rust.
Lowe also reports that not only does Griffin’s victim, Matias Testi, have a swollen face, but he has suffered “debilitating headaches” since taking Griffin’s punches.
Griffin, as you’ve probably heard, broke his hand punching out Testi after what reportedly started as routine teasing. The original estimate for Griffin’s recovery was 4 to 6 weeks, but Doc Rivers cast doubt on that even before this newest report.
