A rather annoyed Doc Rivers once again tried to quiet rampant Blake Griffin trade rumors, saying that the Clippers forward is not going to be moved.
“I’ve told you we’re not trading Blake, but I guess everyone else wants to keep doing that. So we’ll let them do that,” Rivers said Tuesday, via ESPN’s Andrew Han. “It is what it is. Nothing we can do about it, honestly. It frustrates you when you know nothing’s going on, but what can you do?”
Rivers wouldn’t even confirm whether or not the team had fielded calls on Griffin.
“That’s none of [the media’s] business. It really isn’t,” Rivers said. “I hate to say it. It’s none of [the fans’ business]. Having said that, I think we receive phone calls on every single player, honestly. But it does frustrate me when you hear all the speculation and all that stuff. It’s completely untrue.”
Rivers has been firm in this stance ever since the rumors began to crop up. He’s been linked to the Nuggets and the Thunder for Kevin Durant in the summer, with the Clippers having reportedly made him “available.” Rivers says that’s very, very wrong.
