Portland Trail Blazers center Enes Kanter is facing a real battle to play through a separated shoulder in the Western Conference semifinals.
As of Monday, Kanter was unsure of his status for Game 1 against the Denver Nuggets, admitting that the pain made it difficult for him to do some very basic things.
Enes Kanter (left shoulder) says he doesn’t know if he’ll play tonight. Says there’s quite a bit of pain doing things like sleeping, taking his shirt on and off.

It’s not a terribly encouraging assessment, but the center, who is thoroughly enjoying his playoff run, seems determined to try to fight through it. Of course, if it’s too painful for him to perform basic basketball actions like shooting and rebounding, there’s simply no way he’ll be able to go, but that decision clearly has not been made just yet.
