Eric Bledsoe reportedly cleared to do 5-on-5 work
Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe has cleared another hurdle in his recovery from a meniscus tear suffered last December.
According to a report by Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, Bledsoe has been cleared to participate in 5-on-5 scrimmages.
The 26-year-old has been out since suffering the tear to his left knee on December 26 in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers. His 2015-16 season ended with averages of 20.4 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and 6.1 assists per game.
Bledsoe is the best player on the Suns’ roster, but they can afford to bring him back into the fold slowly with Brandon Knight complementing him, Devin Booker developing nicely, and rookie Tyler Ulis entering the backcourt mix.
The former No. 18 overall pick has a worrisome history of knee problems, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that Bledsoe can finally put his injury troubles behind him as he nears what should be his physical apex.
