Gabrielle Union blasts refs after no-call on Dwyane Wade
Miami Heat fans can’t help but feel robbed after a no-call on Dwyane Wade late in Wednesday night’s game may have cost them a chance to win. Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union, certainly felt that her husband was fouled while driving to the basket, and she unloaded on the officials at the conclusion of Game 5.
Wade, who turned back the clock and scored 25 points in the 90-88 loss to the Charlotte Hornets, drew contact from Cody Zeller. It looked like Zeller was still moving forward and leaned into Wade. Here’s a video of the play:
How is this not a foul?!?!?? #HeatGang @DwyaneWade bs man. Great game pic.twitter.com/IGwjaFJldX

Union certainly felt there was enough contact to warrant a whistle. She blasted the officiating crew and called for the NBA to fine and suspend refs who make crucial mistakes.
Absolute BS!!!!! https://t.co/vEWbNrFR5z

They need to get fined. Period. Crappy officiating deserves a FINE and suspension. Not after the fact "oh well" https://t.co/B6CSxn4ck2

In all fairness I DID let refs know when they gave us calls we didn't deserve… his response "I thought you'd be at the concert" #FineEm

2 min report is BS… after the fact WHO CARES?!?!?! If you don't #FineEm what's the motivation to get it right in the future?? #logic

If players/coaches/owners get fined for complaints about poor officiating, makes sense that poor officiating =fines for the refs #logic

As one of Union’s followers pointed out, Reggie Jackson made similar comments earlier this week about officials being penalized for bad calls.
The Hornets now lead the series 3-2 heading back to Charlotte. Officials are often hesitant to make calls with the game on the line, but it’s surprising that a player of Wade’s caliber didn’t get the foul call on his own home court.
We already learned how intense Union was about Wade’s games when she did this interview. Now we have all seen it first-hand through Twitter.
