Boston Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum knows he can improve, and when Kobe Bryant gives some pointers, he’s going to listen — repeatedly.
In a video posted on ESPN+, Bryant analyzed some ways he feels Tatum can improve his game, with the Lakers legend pointing out minor things like footwork to show how the 20-year-old can get even better. Not only was Tatum appreciative, but he’s taking the advice to heart.
“That was really cool for me. Growing up, [Bryant] was my favorite player. That was really a special moment for me,” Tatum said Saturday, via Chris Forsberg of ESPN. “I’ve probably watched it like 25 times already. It’s very helpful information that I can take with me.”
Bryant wouldn’t bother pointing out all the ways Tatum can improve if he didn’t think he was already a quality player with massive potential. He’s won plaudits from plenty of legendary players, and his play as a rookie has people dreaming of what he might be in five or ten years.
