Yahoo! Sports’s Marc J. Spears clarified that it would be a ten day contract and likely finalized after the weekend.
Fredette averaged 22.3 points per game and shot 40.4 percent from three for the D-League’s Westchester Knicks. He was also selected to the league’s All-Star game, where he scored 35 points in 25 minutes.
Is Jimmermania going to replicate Linsanity? Well, no, probably not, which is a shame because Jimmer was basically Steph Curry 2.0 in college. Perhaps he can drill some threes in the triangle offense, but given the reviews on the former BYU sensation and how he’s performed in the NBA, this is probably just a flier on a guy who’s been performing well in the D-League.
