LeBron James and the Miami Heat have not won back-to-back championships by simply practicing jump-shots and lifting weights. Building the best team in the NBA takes more than that. You have to care for your feet.
LeBron and company would have made Lieutenant Dan proud on Tuesday, as several Heat players took advantage of their off day by indulging in some pedicures. They apparently went to Ray Allen’s favorite spot. Ray credits taking care of his “dogs” as the reason why he has lasted 18 years in the NBA.
LeBron, Allen, Udonis Haslem and Rodger Mason all took part, each providing their own commentary with their feet pictures.
Make fun of them all you want, but the Heat players are hardly the first athletes to appreciate the value of a good foot massage. Kevin Durant took the pedicure plunge two summers ago and Jermichael Finley and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have also been down that road. Perhaps the rest of us should give it a try.
