The remainder of the Memphis Grizzlies’ push to the postseason will likely have to come without their starting point guard.
The team announced in an official release on Saturday that Mike Conley has Achilles tendonitis and will be sidelined for the next three to four weeks of action, per Chris Mannix of Yahoo! Sports.

Conley, 28, had missed the Grizzlies’ last three games due to “left foot soreness.” He holds averages of 15.3 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, and 6.1 assists per game in 2015-16.
The “Goon Squad” in Memphis is suddenly going down like a lead balloon. Marc Gasol was lost for the season with a broken foot suffered in early February while Conley’s backup, Mario Chalmers, tore his Achilles tendon on Wednesday and was subsequently released by the team.
The timetable for Conley, who is in the middle of a contract year, likely means that he will be unable to contribute to the rest of the team’s playoff pursuit. The Grizzlies are currently 39-26 on the year, in possession of the fifth playoff seed in the Western Conference. To maintain that position, Memphis will have to rely on the newly-signed Briante Weber, an undrafted guard who hadn’t played in a single NBA game prior to appearing for the Grizzlies on Friday night, to start at the point.
