Report: Patrick McCaw considering 2-year deal from Warriors

Patrick McCaw has not yet reported to the Golden State Warriors, and a report says that is because he is weighing a contract offer from the team.

The Warriors extended McCaw a qualifying offer for $1.74 million this season that the guard has until midnight eastern on Monday to sign. The Mercury News’ Logan Murdock says that McCaw is also weighing a two-year, $4 million offer from the team.

The Warriors reportedly would extend the deadline for McCaw to sign his qualifying offer if he wants. If McCaw chooses not to sign his qualifying offer, he would be a restricted free agent, giving the Warriors the right to match an offer he receives.

McCaw, a second-round pick in 2016, is entering his third season in the league. He averaged 4 points in 16.9 minutes per game last season for Golden State and suffered a back injury after a scary fall.
