As part of NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, the league held its slam dunk contest Saturday night. During the day’s college basketball action, a player from Memphis made like Vince Carter in the 2000 dunk contest.
Late in the first half, after a steal by Trahson Burrell, Shaq Goodwin got the ball on a break-a-way and this is what happened.
Not surprisingly, Goodwin was assessed a technical foul. Then he was, predictably, crushed on the broadcast. I think suggesting he not be put back in the game is a bit harsh, but we get the idea.
I’m not here to criticize, just to appreciate that Shaq Goodwin did a dunk in a game that would normally be seen in an exhibition setting.
